Once again Amanda Serrano is set to make history in the sport of boxing. The 34-year-old will defend three of her belts against Danila Ramos in a bout scheduled for 12 three-minute rounds. Since women boxers usually compete for 10 two-minute rounds for title fights, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, standing by the “safety and well-being of the fighters,” initially refused to sanction Serrano vs. Ramos.

However, overcoming all obstacles, determined “to be treated the same as their male counterparts,” Amanda Serrano will lock horns with Ramos for 12 three-minute rounds and prove “how incredible women’s boxing is“. Likewise, while Mauricio Sulaiman initially refused to sanction the mentioned fight, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe rallied behind Serrano.
