While Expressing Anger Over Controversial Loss, Fans Join Mike Tyson in Paying Tribute to Francis Ngannou for Tyson Fury Fight

Over the years, many notable names from the MMA world have tried their luck in the sport of boxing. At first, Conor McGregor went toe-to-toe with the one and only undefeated Floyd Mayweather. But the ‘Notorious’ could not produce a win. The same goes for Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, and Anderson Silva. Nevertheless, Francis Ngannou elicited help from Mike Tyson and decided to take on the undefeated WBC Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

What a fight it was! Defying everyone’s predictions and skepticism, Ngannou nearly defeated Tyson Fury. The ‘Predator’ even dropped the ‘Gypsy King’ in the third round, and the credits for Ngannou’s fantastic performance went to Mike Tyson. On a similar note,  a few words of wisdom from ‘Iron’ Mike before the Saturday night fight took the internet by storm. Mike recently posted a clip of Ngannou’s training, where he paid tribute to Ngannou’s performance. As the clip started circulating on Instagram, fans quickly took to the comment section.

Fans credit Mike Tyson for Ngannou’s win

Since the post went live on Instagram, Mike’s goosebumps-causing words to Ngannou have collected over 99K likes and more than 800 comments. While some expressed their frustration with the controversial decision, others lauded ‘Iron’ Mike’s coaching ability.

One user wrote, “I respect that f outta Tyson fury, but homie Francis Ngannou won that sh_t.”

Someone else wrote about the Fury vs. Ngannou fight. “He won. Completely controlled the entire fight. Fury looked sloppy the whole time. Francis outclassed and out-boxed him every round,” the user commented.

Another user commended Ngannou and Mike’s coaching. “Man is an absolute weapon. Mike really brought the best out of him. I think Mike should train more fighters he sees potential in and bring boxing back,” remarked the user.

Aking to the previous user’s thoughts, even this user lauded Mike Tyson for training Francis Ngannou. “Iron Mike, you a great trainer to have him that prepared was impressive,” wrote the user. 

The next user also congratulated ‘Iron’ Mike for training Francis Ngannou. The user wrote, “You built a monster, Mike. Hats off.”

Francis Ngannou declares himself as the Table Tennis world champion

In the last Saturday night fight, Francis Ngannou was a massive underdog. But the former UFC champion destroyed all his critics and dropped the ‘Gypsy King.’ However, the boxing world wasn’t alone in downplaying Ngannou’s power. Even Tyson Fury implied that Ngannou doesn’t pose any threat. 

Previously, Fury suggested that Ngannou fighting him is like Novak Djokovic squaring off against a table tennis champion. So, after the controversial decision in their last Saturday fight, Ngannou took to X (formerly Twitter) and announced that he is the “Table tennis champion of the world.” What’s more, despite Fury being crowned the champion, the boxing world does not agree.
