Come September 2nd, Chris Eubank Jr will try his best to redeem himself against Liam Smith. The Fight gave Eubank Jr, his third and most brutal defeat earlier this year. A visibly defeated Eubank Jr then vowed to come back into the ring and show his worth by invoking the rematch clause mentioned in their contract. Now, with the opportunity on the horizon, the fighter seems to be sure of his prowess as he gears himself to rise in the ring, yet again.
The rematch however is pretty delayed from its initial decided date owing to Smith’s hand injury. His medical practitioner did not give him the green signal to resume fighting. However, he seemed to have recovered and the anticipated rematch is back on the road, and it is slated to be more lethal than its first edition. Eubank desperately awaits to overturn the results of his January clash.

With less than a week left for his rematch against Liam Smith, British boxer Eubank made some confident predictions. The boxer loudly claimed that the only thing left for him to do is let the world and Smith know that he in fact is the best boxer between the two. Further, he claims that the first clash’s results between them were a fluke. He said, “Final prediction is I go out there and I make a statement. I let the boxing world know and I let Liam Smith know that the first fight was a freak accident, a fluke, and that I am the better boxer. That I am the better man in the ring. ”

Smith had earlier cleared the air around discussion claiming that his victory in the first match was indeed a fluke. He said that their January fight was not the first time the two fighters met in the ring. He referred to the previous sparring sessions they undertook. Justifying his victory, the fighter said, “I didn’t just pull it out of the air. I fully did do him to the body [in sparring] and I’ve done him in the head now too. He knows I can hurt him. I know I can hurt him.”
A Prelude to Eubank vs. Smith 2, What Happened in January?
Brighton boxer, ‘Next Gen’ Eubank Junior was defeated in the fourth round through an upper-cut knockout. The Manchester bout saw ‘Beefy’ Smith dominate the fight right from the beginning. His opponent was left dazed owing to the continuous and lethal attack that came his way. Eubank seemed so out of the fight that he continued fighting his opponent even after the referee called off the matchup.

The fighter took major blows not just to his boxing record and ego but also to his appearance as a big swelling emerged under his eye moments after the ruling. Congratulating his fighter, Next Gen said, “He had a nice shot on me. The build-up was the build-up, and it became a little nasty at the end. That was something I later regretted. I have always respected you and your family.”

September 2nd is not too far of a date. As both fighters prepare themselves to claim victory against each other, there is an utter frenzy that has gone down in the boxing realm. Smith cannot afford to lose this bout, and if he does, the argument of his victory by fluke will find its testimony. Eubank on the other hand will perhaps lose everything he has worked for so far in his career if he fails to redeem himself.
