The professional career of Floyd Mayweather Jr. lasted two decades. However, many fans and enthusiasts prefer splitting it into two phases, first, as ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd, and later, when he switched to ‘Money’ Mayweather. So, a question often bothers many. If the two versions were two different personalities, which one would have had the upper hand? Better still, how would they have fared against one of the greatest boxers of this generation?
@ShowBizzTheAdult podcaster believes Floyd Mayweather will easily defeat Terence Crawford. He said, “Floyd Mayweather will beat the hell out of Terence Crawford. You all are quick to forget when you see something else great. Terence Crawford is no Floyd Mayweather…” Secondly, even between ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd and ‘Money’ Mayweather, the latter wins hands down, “…many people talk about the distinction between Pretty Boy Floyd and Money Mayweather. Money Mayweather would whoop Pretty Boy’s a**… Money was better than Pretty Boy…”

Floyd Mayweather Jr. – A Legacy and Debate
The following user seems puzzled. He wants to know – Floyd Mayweather Jr. struggled to beat Errol Spence Jr. during their sparring session. Hence, on what basis could it be construed that he would be able to defeat Terence Crawford? He said, “If Floyd was having a hard time handling Spence in sparring, what the hell [makes] you think Floyd can beat Terrance Crawford?!?“
According to the following fan, within the 30-pound weight differential, no other boxer could match Terence Crawford, let alone defeat him. “There isn’t a fighter on the planet that’s in [the] 30-pound weight range of Terrence Crawford that’s “beating the hell” out of Terrence Crawford.” This fan also said that he had witnessed Crawford pummeling Spence Jr. Hence, he doesn’t foresee Mayweather Jr. knocking out the former in any way: “I don’t see Floyd beating the hell outta Bud, but I did see Bud beat the shit outta Spence.“
For the following user, it’s a tough call to make since he is a big-time Floyd Mayweather Jr. supporter. Ever since he started developing an interest in the sport, he has rated the undefeated former champion as the best boxer. Hence, in his view, a Crawford-Mayweather Jr. fight may sit on the fence and go either way. He said, “That’s a tough call… I’m a big Floyd fan and feel he’s the best boxer since I started following the sport 20 years ago… but I think Bud and Money Mayweather [are] a 50/50 fight.“
Finally, the following user believes that ‘Money’ Mayweather stood ahead since he was more defensively astute and hence took many fewer blows: “Money was definitely better, Bizz for one, Money was smarter and got hit a lot less [because] he focused more on his defense. Bizz, I agree with [you] a thousand [times], bro!!!“

A wrap-up
From 1996 until approximately when he fought Zab Judah, Floyd Mayweather Jr. climbed one division after another. Super Featherweight to Lightweight to Super Lightweight and Welterweight, winning multiple world titles. However, more or less, after the Oscar De La Hoya fight, though he moved divisions, the matches became more grand affairs, elaborate, and filled with money and hype. Nevertheless, it should be noted that battles against more skillful opponents turned more complex and often demanding. They were, more or less, a fight between equals. Most followers chose Mayweather Jr.’s latter version when he had to employ all his skills at their optimum.
