Tyson Fury has surprised fans multiple times after he took a U-turn from his retirement to grace the ring again. So much so that they do not take his retirement seriously anymore. Paris Fury, his wife, however, is tired of her husband’s indecisiveness. Fury will face Francis Ngannou, the UFC heavyweight champion in a few hours in Riyadh.
The upcoming match, set for 10 three-minute rounds, has not yet been officially approved as a professional bout and Fury’s WBC heavyweight belt will not be at stake in this fight either. Though the boxer is known to be a happy family man, he does not quite enjoy retirement. How is Paris Fury taking all of this?

In an interview with iFL TV, the mother of seven reveals that she has been waiting for her husband to come back home for a long time. The documentary that the heavyweight champion featured in showed his time with his family. What fans also noticed was how dissatisfied he was with retirement. Paris hopes the Oleksandr Usyk fight will be the last one he takes up. However, she was immediately let down after learning about the rematch fight clause.
She does not see a point in her husband taking up fight after fight. She believes he has proven everything that was there to be proven. She wants him home with their family now. “I wanted him to retire a few years ago. He isn’t doing it. You saw it well documented on the documentary that he didn’t enjoy it. He doesn’t like being retired. But I’m hoping after Usyk that’s the end of the fight. I’m hoping that’s the end of it…… What more could he prove? What more can he do?” lamented Paris Fury.
After being reminded about the rematch clause, she remarked saddeningly, “You just deflated my evening completely for now and I ain’t lying.” The interviewer tried to console her, but the damage was already done.
Tyson Fury’s retirement tally
Controversy and frequent retirements have marked Tyson Fury’s journey in the boxing world. After his notable victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, he retired because of his personal struggles, including mental health issues, and alcohol, and drug addiction, during his time away from the sport. Fury announced his retirement again after defeating Dillian Whyte in 2022 but made a comeback against Derek Chisora a few months later.
