If Ryan Garcia wins, does Devin Haney's career take a nosedive? What are your thoughts?

The rivalry between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia is claiming new territories now. Just when everyone thought it was over, Devin Haney took it up a notch with a new move. The conflict started in April when both competed against each other in a controversial fight. Garcia dropped the then-champion Haney thrice to win the fight. However, the authorities soon discovered a PED in King Ry’s system. As a result, the majority decision victory was overturned to a no contest.

Since then, both of them have been at each other’s throats on social media. And ‘The Dream’ added a new chapter to this rivalry when he filed a lawsuit against Ryan Garcia in court, seeking punitive damages. Both the fighters and their teams have since been in a back-and-forth. And now people are wondering what would be the outcome of the lawsuit and how it would affect their future prospects. A popular boxing commentator ShowBizz The Adult pondered over these very questions while explaining why the lawsuit may not go Devin Haney’s way in the end.

Devin Haney’s biggest mistake

According to ShowBizz The Adult, the lawsuit might be the biggest mistake Haney has made yet. Why? “Devin Haney didn’t leave well enough alone. He has gone too far. In my opinion, this lawsuit could be a blessing in disguise for Ryan Garcia. Devin Haney is suing Garcia for PEDs, so Garcia’s defense team has to prove that Ryan Garcia didn’t knowingly take Ostarine. Also, they will have scientists to prove that he will have no effect in the ring,” ShowBizz explained. So according to the YouTuber, if Garcia’s defense team can prove that he didn’t intentionally consume Ostarine, the charges of fraud may fall apart on its own because of a lack of prior intent.

He further stated that if Garcia’s team somehow pulls this off, Ryan Garcia may be able to prove himself innocent of the charges leveled against him. How? “So with him having that lawsuit, that brings another opportunity for Ryan Garcia to prove this. Cause don’t forget Garcia wasn’t banned for popping dirty, he was banned for not providing his supplements to the New York State Athletic Commission,” added ShowBizz The Adult.

Since the ban by NYSAC wasn’t over the positive drug test but rather over Ryan Garcia’s inability to show the source of supplement contamination, ShowBizz believes this leaves Ryan Garcia in a good position to beat the lawsuit. This would inadvertently be disastrous for Devin Haney since it would naturally convey that Garcia won because of his skills and not the PED.

Haney’s father and Garcia also got into a back-and-forth as Bill Haney responded to Ryan Garcia’s tweet and called him a “Dumb a*s.” The 26-year-old then mocked Bill Haney and wrote, “Ima sue you for hurting my feelings with that tweet 😔😔😔,” referencing the lawsuit filed by Haney against him.
