One more devastating loss to Tevin Farmer‘s professional journey. Against Raymond Muratalla on July 13th, in the final round, Farmer somehow safeguarded himself from getting knocked out. By the 10th round, Farmer was badly fatigued and looked lost. This led the boxing world to dwell upon Farmer’s eyes which had gone under inspection after he had sustained massive blows against Joseph Diaz Jr. in 2020.
Following the fight against Diaz Jr., as promoter Lou DiBella was utterly concerned about Tevin Farmer’s health, the boxer from Philadelphia was hospitalized. Consequently, he returned to the ring after three years of absence.

Although of the same height, Tevin Farmer had better reach than Joseph Diaz Jr. when the two fought. However, Farmer, unable to use his reach advantage, permitted Diaz Jr. to be in proximity. At the same time, with his fists not wholly covering his head or chin, Farmer failed to protect himself from blows to the head. As a result, while in the fight, the boxing world witnessed Farmer struggling with tics as his head periodically jerked upward.
Among others, Farmer’s promoter, Lou DiBella was concerned about Farmer’s condition. Later speaking to Michael Woods from SB Nation, DiBella revealed he was so worried about Tevin Farmer that he sent the boxer immediately to the hospital after the loss against Diaz Jr. At the hospital, he underwent several checkups and tests.
