Boxing legend Muhammad Ali‘s daughter, Laila Ali is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the world of women’s boxing. Moreover, with her unbeaten record, and the WBC, WIBA, IWBF, IBA female super middleweight titles, and IWBF light heavyweight title under her belt, she has, in fact, made her illustrious career a beautiful tribute to her father’s legacy. Meanwhile, another member of the Ali clan who has made a name for himself in boxing is her nephew, Nico Ali Walsh. In a recent interview, Ali shared her thoughts on her nephew’s career.

Ali was recently a guest at The DAZN Boxing Show. In conversation, she shared her thoughts on the upcoming Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano showdown. And also shed a light on her career regrets.

Laila Ali is not very close to Nico Ali Walsh

During the interview, Ali was asked about her thoughts on her nephew’s career. The interviewer even stressed Walsh’s recent victory against Eduardo Ayala.

Ali responded by saying, “I think he’s doing really well, you know. Nico and I, obviously I don’t have anything to do with his career. And, you know, frankly, we’re not super close. But, at the same time, I wish him well.”

Moreover, she further added, “I’ve told him, if you you need anything, let me know. I’m not the type of person who’s gonna press myself on you. But I’m glad that he remembered that piece of advice that I gave him because there’s a lot more fights out there for him.”

Notably, Walsh is the son of Muhammad Ali’s daughter, Rasheda Ali.

Walsh sends a message to his opponent

‘The Legend Lives On’ is often seen channeling his legendary grandfather. In what seemed to be a homage to Ali’s iconic attitude, he sent a stern message to his opponent merely hours prior to his fight.

Walsh faced Eduardo Ayala at the Desert Diamond Arena, Glendale on February 3, 2023. Prior to the fight, he took to Instagram to announce that nobody will stop him. Walsh went on to win the fight via decision.
