Ahead of his fight with John Gotti III, Floyd Mayweather Jr. took to Instagram and demonstrated his work with a heavy punching bag. Even at 46, Mayweather made it look smooth and easy. Addressing his fans, the 50-0 boxer explained how he maintained his hand speed. Doing so, Mayweather promoted his Boxing Club and urged the general public to join him and his team for more such lessons.
In a series of short videos, Mayweather explained how the hand speed depended on the size of gloves you were wearing. Likewise, Mayweather revealed the size he prefers to wear when working at the gym. On June 11, Mayweather will square off against John Gotti III and is consequently busy working on his fundamentals. Hence, on this occasion, Mayweather thought about sharing his knowledge while promoting his beloved gym.

The 46-year-old took to Instagram and in a post declared that he was keeping the tools sharp late at night at the gym. Those who have followed Mayweather’s journey well know that Mayweather likes to train at night ahead of an upcoming fight. According to Mayweather himself, this method provides him with a psychological advantage. Mayweather feels better knowing he is working out at a time when his opponent is most probably sleeping. Anyway, speaking about how he maintains his unparalleled hand speed, Mayweather said, “So, a lot of times I’m working in the gym, my hands be so fast. So, I work with different sizes of gloves.”

“But, most of the time when you see me on the bag, I make it look so light. I make it look so sweet. It be 16 (OZ). It should come fast,” Mayweather concluded saying. In addition, Mayweather captioned the post, saying, “Late night gym work at Mayweather Boxing Club. Always keeping the tools sharp.” While Mayweather keeps his tools sharp, the father of John Gotti III recently claimed that his son was scripting “a true ‘Rocky’ story”. Likewise, John Gotti III declared he is “bringing bad intentions” to Mayweather and that it is “kill or be killed“. Well, it looks like Mayweather has got to keep his tools sharp now!
