It’s not everyday that one comes across a boxing superstar of Canelo Alvarez‘s caliber. But what if one does? Will that compel them to summon all their courage and ask him to try one of his trademark punches on them? Nah, autographs and selfies should be sufficient.

But Naim Darrechi appears to be a different breed. The Spanish YouTuber and TikToker, popular among youth for his funny videos, went a step ahead. He bravely asked the undisputed super middleweight champion to bless him with a body shot. The same body shot terminated the campaign of several challengers over the years. A clip of the comedic sequence has been going viral since ESPN Mexico shared it a day ago.

Though translated from Spanish, the post read, “This is how it feels to receive a hook from Canelo.” The attached video begins with a message in Spanish, “Cuando le pides al Canelo un gancho,” which roughly translates to, “When you ask Canelo for a hook.” The next shot shows the popular social media influencer with 6.2 million followers on Instagram holding a placard that reads, “Canelo cumple mi seano,” which means, “Canelo fulfills my dream.

The next sequence shows the world champion, accompanied by his wife and daughter, rising up from their table and moving towards the place where he would hit Naim Darrechi. The super middleweight king got into the position and effortlessly threw a right hand that made an instant connection with the YouTuber’s midriff, who gave off a loud “Ahoooo!

The latter could be seen taking a few steps after receiving the punch, finally coming to a standstill. Though he was smiling, the pain was apparent on his face. On his personal Instagram handle, Darrechi wrote, “Someday I will have the honor of stepping in the ring with you, @canelo.

Fan thanks ‘Cinnamon’ for punching the YouTuber

But for most of the users, it was nothing short of a laugh and a gag. A few could say that the world champion was downplaying it. Then some checked whether the YouTuber was all right.

But first, this user seems certain that the undisputed super middleweight champion prevented himself from hurting the youngster. “And I’m pretty sure the cinnamon was measured,” they said. However, the next one rather thanked the Mexican icon for the punch. It appears that Naim Alejandro Darrechi isn’t much liked in their corner. Expressing their gratitude to Alvarez, they said, “Thank you, Canelo; we couldn’t stand that goey.

Taking a potshot at the YouTuber, this user expressed an interest in checking out the ultrasound report of Darrechi’s liver: “We want to see the ultrasound of his liver.” Then this follower believes that he could receive a windfall. They checked to see if they would receive $50,000 if they were willing to present themselves for the world champion’s hit. “Maybe if I ask for about 50 thousand dollars, will you give it to me too?” Finally, this user seemed stunned by Canelo Alvarez’s composure. He threw a hook at a person’s body and went back as though nothing had transpired. The user said, “He gives a hook to his liver and returns happily to his table as if nothing happened.

It is apparent that the undisputed super middleweight champion took it very lightly. Otherwise, some of the most well-trained and conditioned boxers, who bore the brunt of the strike, succumbed, writhing with pain.

One only needs to ask Rocky Fielding when he took the knee during the third round of their match on December 15, 2015. Shane Mosley was brave enough to survive and walk the distance during the 2012 clash. A repeated shot on the ‘Sugar’ body forced him on the backfoot. It was the third liver shot that brought Liam Smith‘s campaign down. But even if the undisputed champion might have taken it in jest, Naim Alejandro Darrechi’s courage should be lauded. He attempted something most men wouldn’t dare, even in their dreams.
