Having promoted heavyweight stars of several generations, Warren recently revealed how Mike Tyson’s name was sufficient to experience a house full showdown. While the Queensberry Promotions’ kingpin is now promoting Tyson Fury, his recent revelations sent several fans into a frenzy.

In an exclusive chat with iFL TV, Frank Warren said, “I think the nearest side is when I brought Mike Tyson over in 22 years ago and we announced his fight, up in Manchester. And we sold out immediately without even naming an opponent. And that was a quick, genuine sell-out.”
There’s no denying Mike Tyson was the biggest boxing superstar back during the peak years of his career. However, Tyson Fury has clearly channelized similar energy in recent years. The undefeated WBC world heavyweight champion has gained serious momentum in the USA, and all over the world.
Having vanquished Deontay Wilder twice in a row, Fury will now return to his home soil UK after five-straight appearances in the USA. That said, he will come across another hard-hitting heavyweight in Dillian Whyte, which cites an intriguing contest incoming.

The fight will happen on April 23 at the Wembley Arena. Meanwhile, Tyson Fury has already hinted at it to be his final outing inside a boxing ring.

Mike Tyson saw a longer journey than Tyson Fury
If Tyson Fury actually hangs up his glove after facing Dillian Whyte, it will be seen as a much shorter journey than what Mike Tyson had set back in his days. Tyson has had 58 pro-fights in his career, whereas Fury’s upcoming clash against Whyte will be his 33 professional appearance. While the heavyweight category can offer many more challenges to Tyson Fury, an immediate retirement may be untimely.
Nevertheless, Fury may have decided to retire unbeaten, something which Mike Tyson couldn’t. So, both the heavyweight legends have seemingly crafted their names in history and have achieved exceptionally in their respective rides. Now, it will be interesting to see whether Tyson Fury can be a better prizefighter than Mike Tyson.
