Tyson Fury is all set to face Francis Ngannou in a huge crossover bout that has captured the attention of both the boxing and MMA world. The fight which is set to take place on October 28th features two giants of MMA and boxing together. It will be the clash of champions of two sports. With this fight, Fury will finally be making a return to the ring, almost 10 months after his bout last year against Derek Chisora. However, a lot of fans are still left with a bitter taste in their mouth.
This is because earlier this year Fury was also looking forward to facing Oleksandr Usyk, for a shot at becoming the undisputed heavyweight world champion. Unfortunately for the fans, the fight fell apart, thus causing a lot of fans to accuse Fury of ducking the Ukrainian. Recently, Fury’s manager revealed what really caused the fight to collapse.

Recently, the founder of the Queensberry Promotions Frank Warren did an interview with Boxing News. During the interview, the topic turned towards the highly anticipated bout between the two heavyweight champions. Warren claimed that Fury wanted the fight, which is why they made so many offers to Usyk. This led the interviewer to ask, “Is that the only fight Tyson wants currently outside of obviously Ngannou?”. To this question, the promoter replied, “The fight Tyson wants to get out the way is this one on the 28th.”

However, Warren asked to not take the upcoming bout for “granted”. He pointed out that Ngannou can punch, stating, “He’s not some mug, is he?”
This lead the interviewer to ask him if he feels frustrated at the critics who are clamoring for the Fury-Usyk fight. He pointed out how everyone would love to witness what could easily be called the potential clash of the year. However, Warren stated that he was indeed “sick to death” with the question.
Warren claims Usyk never gave an offer
The question seemed to have touched the nerve of the veteran promoter. While calling the question stupid, he pointed out that Fury had already signed the contract and it was Usyk who failed to do so. He stated that the bout was expected to take place in April this year. However, Usyk’s current promotion Skills Challenge could not provide a venue for the fight to occur.
Furthermore, he claimed that they planned on getting the fight in the UK. However, according to Warren, when they were trying to do so, the Ukrainian went ahead and got himself signed for another bout. He stated, “We tried to get it on in the UK and he just sodded around and signed for a fight to take place.”
Moreover, he added, Usyk had stated that Fury was supposed to receive an offer from him for a bout in December which they never got. “He said we will be getting an offer in the next couple of weeks. Am I right? We never even got an offer,” Warren stated.

To sum it up, Warren put all the blame on Usyk’s team. What happened is unclear but most fans are undoubtedly blaming ‘The Gypy King’ for it.
