Terence Crawford is coming off an impressive victory against the former unified champion Errol Spence Jr. With the victory he has managed to earn himself a place at the top of the sport where many are even claiming that he is the current P4P king. Moreover, Crawford has already stated that he has nothing to prove anymore and that he is only looking to further improve his legacy. However, he is far from being the only talent in the sport. The current boxing world is filled with exceptionally talented boxers, looking for a chance to prove their might.

One such individual is, of course, Gervonta Davis who has been blitzing past one opponent after another, knocking out everyone who dares stand against him. With the record of dropping 27 out of 29 opponents he faced so far, he is definitely a force to be reckoned with. He further solidified his position amongst the elites of boxing with his recent victory against Ryan Garcia earlier this year. However, it’s not enough for Crawford, who has some words of advice for the heavy hitter of the lightweight division.

Recently, Terence Crawford made his appearance on Joe Rogan Experience as a guest. There the topic of Davis’s destructive might was brought up, and the new 2-division undisputed champion pointed out how no one appears to want to face Davis. He also talked about how ‘Tank’ has been relentless in his efforts and has been calling out a lot of fighters. Notably, Davis also called out Crawford and stated that he had a‘ glass chin’. The champion didn’t back down from the challenge and dared him to “come and touch it.”

Speaking of Davis, ‘Bud’ said, “Hats off to Tank, he is a great talented fighter, but again he haven’t faced the top elite fighters in his division. So we want to see Tank against somebody his size at the elite level. And I believe he’ll do good because he got the skills, the power, he got the ring IQ to do good. But we haven’t seen that yet.”

To this Rogan hailed Davis as a “wild fella” and claimed that his wildness is what makes “it fun to watch” him. Rogan further called ‘Tank’ a “crazy dude.” However, the champ attributed this to Davis being from Baltimore. He believes that it is just Davis’ upbringing and called him a “product of his own environment.”

Terence Crawford shares what keeps him going despite his previous plan to retire

Crawford has always been open about his plan of quitting boxing. In fact, he wanted to quit at 33. But fate had something different in store for him. He has kept his physical health as his utmost priority throughout his career. He told Rogan that he has always said that he wants to “retire from boxing” rather than letting “boxing to retire” him. This surprised the UFC commentator who then asked if this decision was because of not being able to make the Errol Spence Jr. fight previously.

However, ‘Bud’ made it clear that he had decided this even prior to that. When asked the reason for him still persisting with the sport, he revealed that it was his body that told him, “Man you ain’t done.” He revealed that even though he desired to retire, he felt that he was not done. He believed that he still had a “lot to prove.” Moreover, he believed he was “still in his prime” and had a “lot to accomplish.”

‘Bud’ wanted to reach a level where no one would be able to deny his capability as a boxer. Crawford is currently looking to fight the winner of the bout between Canelo Alvarez and Jermell Charlo. But he is also willing to face Davis at 147 if a chance arrives. What do you think about Crawford’s word of advice to Davis? Do share your thoughts in the comments.
