Conor Benn really can’t catch a break! The 27-year-old Brit was supposed to face the biggest challenge of his career by taking on Chris Eubank Jr. However, controversy enveloped ‘The Destroyer’ Benn’s career as he tested positive for banned substances. Since then, the fate of the all-British fight has gotten bleaker and bleaker. To add insult to injury, now the BBBofC has rejected his appeal to fight in the UK or in a fight sanctioned by them.

In a recent tweet, Michael Benson shared the update with his followers. “The BBBofC have REJECTED Conor Benn’s application to fight Chris Eubank Jr in the UK under their jurisdiction,” wrote Benson. He even revealed a statement from Robert Smith from BBBofC, where Robert claimed Benn had tested positive for the drugs. So, he has to go through an investigation by proper authorities before a fight can be considered. When the fans discovered the unfortunate news, everyone went into a frenzy, expressing their opinions.

If the significance of the fight wasn’t clear before, the numbers this tweet has produced should make it clear. Since the post went live on X, it has gathered over 368K views and nearly 300 comments.

One user claimed they did not care because it had been 18 months since the failed drug test, and the user just wanted to see Eubank Jr. defeat Benn.

Another user suggested that the fight may soon happen in a Middle Eastern country.

Even the next user echoed the same opinion! The user implied Eddie Hearn might try to contact the organizers in Saudi Arabia.

Someone else asserted the failure of the fight was due to Benn’s actions but claimed Hearn would find a way to make the fight happen.

The next user claimed BBBofC is trying to protect Chris Eubank Jr. from being defeated at the hands of Conner Benn.

While the fight between Eubank Jr. and Benn doesn’t seem possible in the UK, Eddie Hearn seems impatient to sign the deal.

Eddie Hearn claims Conor Benn can’t keep waiting for Chris Eubank Jr.

Since the start of the discussions about the potential fight, Eddie Hearn has been the loudest voice, trying to make it happen. However, even Hearn seems fed up with the prolonged discussions persisting between the two corners. While appearing in a recent interview with Boxing Social, Hearn expressed his thoughts on the matter.

“It’s not on until the fight is signed, and it’s not signed. So firstly, the fight isn’t on, but…I think hope is a better word – to finalize it this week,” said Hearn. He went on to reveal that Benn has asked him to look for alternative options since the contract has not been signed by Eubank Jr. yet. “Conor Benn has already asked us to look at additional options for him on February the 3rd. Because he can’t just wait on Chris Eubank,” said Hearn.
