There’s a piece of bad news for Tyson Fury fans as the WBC heavyweight champions will not return to action on December 5. Instead, he has reportedly shifted his comeback to the next year in late February or March, disheartening a bunch of fight fans.
While Deontay Wilder had seemingly deprived him of a trilogy fight, Fury opted to go against Agit Kabayel by the end of this year. However, some outer ring turmoils have forced the ‘Gypsy King’ to quell those plans.
Being one of the A-listed word champions, he is back on track to fight Deontay Wilder or unified champion Anthony Joshua on his return.

That said, it seems Fury will only return when the fans will get back to the arenas. His last fight against Wilder for the WBC strap touched record-breaking gate sales in February, cementing it as one of the biggest heavyweight fights ever.
So, it makes sense for the Brit champion to not compromise on that huge revenue. His promoter Frank Warren has revealed the reason for pushing back the return date.
Tyson Fury has a POINT
Boxing reporter Michael Benson recently turned to Twitter to reveal Frank Warren’s statements from an interview with Mail Sport. As per the tweet, Fury’s return will now happen in the United States, replacing the UK as the first venue.
Frank Warren claims that Fury’s fight fell through since they didn’t want to host an event behind closed doors. Fury’s promoter was seeking a live audience for the fight, and since they didn’t get it, they are postponing the event until fans get into the arenas.

Benson wrote in his tweet, “Frank Warren has explained that Tyson Fury’s Dec 5th UK fight fell through because we could not find a way to make it work without fans during the pandemic.” He added that Fury’s next fight will now most likely be in the US in late February or March.”
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua can bag the opportunity to face Tyson Fury if he successfully defends his belts against Kubrat Pulev on December 12. If not, the trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder is still relevant on the charts.
