“We Aren’t Letting This Little Man Down”: Ryan Garcia Shares Rare Footage From Childhood Ahead of Gervonta Davis Super Fight

Ryan Garcia has been a prospect for the longest time. In just a few days, he will take on the challenge the fans have been demanding ever since he burst into the scene. He will square off against Gervonta Davis on the 22nd of April in the fighting capital of the world, Las Vegas. The fight has been anticipated and demanded by fans for a substantial amount of time. And makes sense for reasons more than one.

Both young fighters are undefeated and are betting their undefeated records on the time. Their future trajectory will be determined by how the fight plays out. The stakes are as high as they can get. Though, Garcia is confident in being the victor in the bout.

Ryan Garcia reminisces about his childhood ahead of his fight

Garcia turned professional at the young age of 17. The boxer received recognition from the age of 20. There are many clips of the young fighter in his early days of getting into boxing. Recently, he shared a throwback video in which he is just a child.

@ryangarciahd posted a compilation of many clips of his younger self training and fighting. The caption of the post stated, “Your younger self had a dream don’t let that little guy down”

Garcia reposted the story on his Instagram story. He captioned it, “We aren’t letting this little man down Aprill 22nd ahhhh its time It is time”. Evident to say, Garcia is confident going into the bout and has no plans to let his younger self down.

Though, Davis is no walk in the park. Not to mention, only time will reveal how the fight plays out. Regardless, the fighter has come a long way and has already achieved a lot in the sport. Needless to say, if he is the victor in his next bout, that would be the pinnacle of his career. 

Garcia vows to bring changes in the sports after his bout with Davis

Garcia, speaking to the media, expressed how he feels the fight with Davis may change the sport. He stated, “It’s a Huge fight. It could really change the trajectory of the sport and inspire young fighters to get it on right now.” He added, “ “People are gonna love you, see you fought the best. Win or lose. You showed what a champion really is.”

Indeed, the fact that  the two best prospects in the lightweight division will square off against each other would inspire other boxers to also do this.
