Mike Tyson against Roy Jones Jr. is a matchup that has been fuming in the boxing community since the early 90s. That said, the former world champions are finally meeting each other in an eight-round exhibition battle on November 28.
However, it might not be the same contest that the heavyweight gladiators could have showcased in their prime. Mike Tyson is coming off from a professional lay off of 15 years, opposite a 51-year-old Roy Jones Jr. Thus, a lot of safety measures have been put on for the fight. Firstly, the main event will have four rounds less than usual PPVs. On top of it, each round will only be of two minutes. Thus, Tyson and Jones Jr will collide for 16 minutes in total.

When Tyson was asked about the decision of having a two-minute round, he clearly appeared vexed. However, considering the reason for charity, he vows to understand the protocols. Talking about it, ‘Iron’ Mike said, “Absolutely, I am sure they have their reason for doing it but you know the women fight two minutes. But I have to understand this is bigger than me, there’s a charity involved and it’s not all about me so.”
Roy Jones has also reacted similarly to the situation. He said, “I am not happy at all. Like he said, I am not happy at all. That’s for women. I keep fighting till the last minute. I am like why we are doing two-minute rounds, I don’t understand that. We are not women.”
