Tyson Fury will go toe-to-toe with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou on 28 October. However, the upcoming clash of these two behemoths of combat sports has been labeled a cash grab by many. For the same reason, Fury has attracted severe criticism from fans and experts alike. But seemingly, that has not affected Fury’s attitude towards the crossover boxing event ahead of him.
Furthermore, after Fury’s fight against the Cameroonian mixed martial artist, Fury will have to face Oleksandr Usyk in late December. Even though there are no titles on the line in the fight against Ngannou, Fury stands to lose his WBC title against Usyk. So, the late December fight between Fury and Usyk has the boxing world buzzing with excitement. However, previously, the consensus among fans was Fury would not fight Usyk, something Fury disproved with the announcement of the fight. In a recent interview with Boxing King Media, Fury explains his attitude towards all the nay-sayers, emphasizing his mental fortitude.

Tyson Fury implores people to grow up
During the interview, Fury emphasized, “Not everyone’s as strong as me. Not everybody’s mentally as strong as me.” Fury elaborated further by explaining that all the negativity in the community can affect other boxers, but it doesn’t have any effect on him. “It doesn’t do s**t to me. I’m waterproof, but somebody who’s maybe not as mentally strong as me would be upset and hurt by other people’s comments,” Fury told the reporter.
Fury goes on to justify his view on what people have to say about him. “When I’m out and about, nobody ever comes up to me and says, all the achievements you’ve ever done are no good. They never have the guts to do that,” Fury claimed. He later adds that people shielded by the anonymity of their computer screens feel emboldened to say whatever without restraint. So, Fury advises people “to grow up and stop with all the hating.”

Fury wants ten more fights after Francis Ngannou
Last year, Fury retired from the sport but could not stay away from what he does best and made a comeback by facing Derek Chisora. But what are his plans for the future at the age of 35? According to an article from Mike Coppinger from ESPN, Fury claimed he wants ten more fights after he goes up against Francis Ngannou. “I’m looking to sign another 10-fight deal after this,” said Fury.
He went on to explain that boxing is all he has ever done, and it made him happy. “This makes me f***ing happy fighting. This is all I’ve ever done. And all that’s ever made me happy,” said Fury. He even highlighted that it would not make sense for him to walk away from the sport when he is not only making money but also deriving immense pleasure from the sport.
