Jake Paul, 26, has taken over the sport. Is he Polarizing? Yes. However, he is a draw and to an extent, a decent boxer considering his experience. His move to boxing was not overnight. As a teenager, he competed as a wrestler and had hands-on experience with combat. He made his ‘not-so-spectacular’ boxing debut in 2018 against Deji, a fellow YouTuber. However, things quickly changed thereafter.

His professional debut came in 2020 after he knocked out Aneson Gib in the very first round. Since then, he has broken norms, extended boundaries, and knocked out opponent after opponent. As 2023 comes to an end, ‘The Problem Child,’ looks back and reflects upon his past year.

In the video, looking back on the year, he stated, “Many highs, many lows, but 2023 ended up being the best year of my life.” Indeed, the year was filled with several profound events for him and he appeared to be grateful for the same, but according to him, not surprising. There were setbacks, but he rose from his setbacks and provided a great example for us to look up to.

At the commencement of this year, Paul was booked to face Tommy Fury. It was the first time the YouTuber-turned-boxer faced a traditional boxer. And for the first time, he was handed a defeat. However, he made a resurgence and defeated Nate Diaz via a unanimous decision. However, the Problem Child wasn’t done for the year. He ended the year with another spectacular knockout win against a professional boxer, Andre August. This win definitely legitimized the YouTuber as a boxer with some serious skills. These were the important things he chose to highlight in his video.

This year, Amanda Serrano, the women’s featherweight champion, signed under his boxing promotion label: ‘Most Valuable Promotions’. The association soon made history as Serrano’s match against Danila Ramos became the first women’s world title fight held over twelve three-minute rounds since 2007. In addition, she also became the first-ever Puerto Rican undisputed champion. Talking about how the year had been for her, Paul had nothing but praise for Serrano. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “Changing the course of history. This girl is phenomenal.”

But that wasn’t all. This was also the year that the former Vine star fell in love.

Paul reflects on the “love of his life,” and his vast businesses ventures

Paul is not just an entertainer or a boxer. Amongst way more other things, he is a son, brother, boyfriend, and entrepreneur. This year, he started dating Jutta Leerdam, a world-champion speed skater. Just like Paul, she is an athlete herself. She is quite successful and has multiple titles under her name. The two have not shied away from making their relationship known to the public. In the video, Paul addressed this part of his life as well. He stated, “This year, I was lucky enough to meet the love of my life. It is so crazy. I fell in love when I least expected it. She came out of nowhere, swept me off my heels.”

As a brother? He witnessed his brother, Logan Paul, become the WWE United States champion and saw him defeat his foe, Dillion Danis, in a boxing match. “This year watching Logan accomplish his childhood dream, becoming WWE United States champion. Beating people up in the boxing ring? I couldn’t have imagined.”

As an entrepreneur, his company, “Betr,” which allows fantasy betting, has achieved even greater heights. He also revealed that it had raised 35 million dollars on a series A2 at a 300 million dollar valuation’. This speaks as a testament to the popularity and success the company has garnered in a very short while. In addition, “Celsius,” the brand of which he is a global ambassador, has done exceptionally well, thanks to the well-placed plugs that Jake Paul often does. He even went as far as to claim that it is one of the healthiest energy drinks out there and he drinks it ahead of his workout. He remarked about the drink, “The drink I drink before my workouts which fuels me to victory.” From the looks of it, this year turned out to be a phenomenal one for him in terms of business.
