‘The Baddest Man on Planet’ was certainly a phenomenal knockout machine the boxing world has ever produced. Throughout his career, he thrashed several world champions in a spectacular fashion. This is interesting for his fans, but what’s more interesting is that ‘Iron’ Mike once accidentally punched the referee so hard that the latter fell on the floor.
It happened in a fight in 2000 when Tyson was making his comeback. The champ was in phenomenal shape and took a shot against Lou Savarese. He entered the ring with all guns blazing and stunned the crowd by scoring the first knockdown in the initial seconds of the fight with a left hook.

However, Savarese somehow survived it and took his stance to face furious Tyson again.
The referee defined the entire scenario as “He’s in big big trouble. It’s all over shortly next punch, numbers quicker than he put them through his fast step. It’s finished, it’s finished. The referee trying to stop the fight. Tyson stepped right into the corner and knocked the referee down, he knocked referee down.”
Notably, when Tyson charged at his opponent for the second time with lethal hooks and uppercuts, the referee stepped in to stop the bout. However, it went wrong as Tyson was so intent on destroying his opponent that he accidentally caught the referee with a lethal blow knocking him down.
Since it was unintentional so it cost nothing to Tyson.
