Former lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko is still one of the most talented boxers in the sport. The Ukrainian superstar conquered three weight classes in just fifteen professional bouts, thanks to his incredible boxing skill. However, boxing is not the only thing Lomachenko is apparently good at.
The former champion is coming off a tough loss against Teofimo Lopez and is set for his comeback to the sport. Lomachenko will face Masayoshi Nakatani on June 26. And ‘Hi-Tech’ has given fans an insight into his unique preparation for the bout.
The 14-2 boxer took to his social media to show how he is preparing for the bout. Lomachenko posted a video of him destroying the speed bag with his astounding hand speed. He then took it up a notch and channeled his MMA game, and threw spinning elbows in between while keeping the same speed.

While he obviously can not do this in his bout against Nakatani, this video shows just how skilled ‘Hi-Tech’ is. He often works on hand-eye coordination drills and other unique exercises to improve his technique and speed. Thus, it is no surprise that the Ukrainian could pull off something like this.

Given his dedication, there is no doubt the former world champion would succeed in the sport. He would immediately be the most sophisticated striker in the sport. And if he can work on his grappling and takedown defense, theoretically, it would be possible.
However, Lomachenko is 33 and has suffered a series of injuries in the last few years. Therefore, although theoretically, it would make sense, practically, it is unlikely for ‘Loma’ to cross over.
