Selimov was an established fighter back then, but he barely stood a chance over the highly skilled Lomachenko.

The fight began well for both the men and right from the first bell; they looked to hammer each other and finish the fight. The duo exchanged many punches till the end and the fight went the distance. Lomachenko too landed some exuberant shots on his rival, but he also received some slick counterattacks.

As a result, till the end, it was tough to call which way the result would go. But, the judges gave this fight to Selimov, leaving the Ukrainian boxer heartbroken.

The results of this fight left many Lomachenko fans disheartened as they felt ‘Loma’ did enough to win. But post this fight, Lomachenko made his mind to never end up on the losing side again, and he abided by this thought.
