The boxing world has witnessed several stories of an unbroken bond between a fighter and his promoter. The former heavyweight legend Mike Tyson and his love for his father-like figure Cus D’Amato is the most iconic one. Though it is hard to find such a thing in the current generation of boxing, the mutual respect between Tyson Fury and Bob Arum is no less than a pure love between a fighter and his promoter.

The WBC and the Ring Magazine heavyweight champ set an example by flying all the way to Madison Square Garden, New York, to sing ‘Happy Birthday and American Pie’ to his promoter, Bob Arum.

ESPN reported it on Twitter. They wrote, “Tyson Fury flew all the way from the UK to sing Bob Arum happy 90th birthday.”

The 33-year-old called out his old rival Derek Chisora a few days back. ‘The Gypsy King’ announced that he would come out of retirement to make the trilogy happen.

However, his promoter Bob Arum recently turn down all such storylines. He said, “The truth is that he gets up in the morning and he figures how he can best stir up s**t and that’s what he does. You think Isaac takes it seriously? Of course not, for Christ sake! [Fury] is just having fun. It’s his idea of fun. He’s getting a little antsy as we all are because we’re waiting.”

Arum is waiting to see the result of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua. He wanted Fury to return for an undisputed contest between him and the winner of the Joshua vs Usyk fight.
