Oleksandr ‘The Cat’ Usyk went into the fight as an underdog but surprised everyone as he put on the performance of his life. In just his third fight at heavyweight, Usyk demonstrated his class as he outboxed his younger opponent.
Usyk took on a two-time world champion in front of a fevered crowd of nearly 70,000 and performed admirably against an opponent who had a height and reach advantage over him.

Following the biggest fight of his career, Usyk wants to live a simple life for a while. “It is the biggest fight in my career, but it wasn’t the hardest one. That is ahead of us,” Usyk said. “I want to take my kids to school, I want to plant trees, I want to water apple trees, I want to see my wife more often.”
Usyk’s next fight will be a rematch against Anthony ‘AJ’ Joshua. And despite his fearsome reputation as a road fighter, Usyk looks to set the rematch in Kyiv.

Anthony Joshua will trigger the rematch clause, which was a part of the contract signed for the first fight. Usyk will have no option but to agree and fight Joshua again, sometime next year. The winner of the rematch will then look to fight the winner of the Tyson ‘The Gypsy King’ Fury vs Deontay ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Wilder for the title of the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
