Muhammad Ali is one of the most charismatic and entertaining boxers of all time. Back on November 14, in 1996, Ali gave what many believe to be the finest performance of his career. He took on Cleveland Williams at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas. Ali fought a fading Cleveland Williams. ‘Big Cat’ Williams became a canvas for a masterpiece from the greatest artist this sport has seen.
Williams used to be the hardest hitting fighter in the division. However, after a gunshot caused him to lose a kidney and part of his small intestine, Williams was never the same. He fought Ali in his prime, becoming Ali’s seventh title defense. On November 14, 1996, Muhammad Ali moved with such grace and speed that it was hard to pit any heavyweight against him.

The entire arena looked on, as Ali seemed untouchable. His confidence grew to such an extent that he debuted his famous move, ‘The Ali Shuffle’. He would move his feet in lightning-quick fashion to bamboozle his opponent before unleashing a flurry of punches. In the very second round of the fight, Ali began toying with his opponent.

He danced around on his quick, nimble feet, knocking Williams out thrice in the second round. Williams somehow survived and went on to the third round. However, Ali mercilessly battered him in the third round, till the referee called a stop to the contest.

“And I would talk to him about the kind of money Mayweather was making, and he was shook. It was right after the Pacquiao fight, so he was just astounded with the amount of money that they were able to garner from that fight.” Ali Walsh said. Floyd reportedly earned upwards of $300million for the fight, with Manny reportedly raking in over $100million.
