Everybody is well aware of the obsession of ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ with wild big cats. Mike Tyson has always expressed his love for all kinds of felines with vanity, and he has even kept three tigers as pets in the past. Despite the impending threat of being bitten, Tyson hasn’t stopped loving these magnificent creatures. His obsession even goes further as he studies these creatures and has immense knowledge about their behavior and body language. In the recent episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, he sat down with eminent Television personality, Stephen A. Smith, and shared his experience during the sighting of one such feline in the US.

Smith couldn’t fathom what Tyson was revealing, as the former Heavyweight boxer told him that he saw a Mountain Lion at one of the most prestigious venues in Los Angeles. This intimidated Smith as he has been in one of those places, and the thought of a Mountain Lion being this close to him frightened him to his core. Smith balked as Tyson went on to divulge a bizarre truth.

‘Iron Mike’ told Stephen A. Smith that there was a good chance he could get to see Mountain Lions in Los Angeles, especially in one of the most luxurious hotels of the city, Hotel Rodeo Drive. This spooked Smith on a whole different level, and he stated that he has been in that hotel but had never come across any mountain lion. Tyson exclaimed, “Go 3 o’clock in the morning.

Smith’s blood ran cold as he heard about it, he couldn’t accept that he’s been this close to a wild creature and was oblivious the whole time. He even said, “I might not go back to Rodeo.” Tyson wasn’t ready to just stop there, he even went further to tell Smith that there are Bobcats present in LA too, as he saw one on the street once. He also mentioned coyotes. In the same episode, Tyson also gave a harsh reality check to Smith about Africa.

Anyway, after listening to Tyson, Smith shook his head, and declared, “I’m gonna stay my a** in Jersey or New York. I’m not doing that.” Tyson’s fixation on tigers instilled fear in Smith’s mind regarding the Rodeo Drive hotel. He also revealed a special manner in which mountain lions usually attack their prey- by directly aiming for the head!

Tyson bears a strange fascination for these beasts

Mike Tyson had three Bengal tigers named, Kenya, Storm, and Boris, during his time in a jail in 1992. When asked the question about his favorite animal, Tyson took a minute to think and then uttered the name of the magnificent beast.

He called them beautiful creatures. He also added, “You’ve never seen their face. They have a green face. Incredible beauty.” It’s no wonder that Tyson had extensive knowledge about the Mountain Lions during his conversation with Stephen A. Smith.
