Devin Haney is busy as a beaver. On May 20, albeit controversially, he defended his title against Vasyl Lomachenko. He made a parting offer to Shakur Stevenson, but it didn’t work out. Sometime later, ‘The Dream’ let the world know he was done with the Lightweight game for the time being. To begin with, he vacated his WBC belt to chase the Light Welterweight belt holder, Regis Prograis. The two are now scheduled to meet in San Francisco on December 9. Frequent clips on social media appear, showing him working rigorously for the fight with ‘Rougarou’.

The former undisputed champion seems hell-bent on expanding the horizon. Probably, he nurtures the goal of becoming the second male boxer in the sport’s history to become a two-division undisputed champion. But like everyone else, Devin Haney, too, deserves downtime. And what better way than to spend time in great company watching a game and cheering for a team few expected to win?

Boxing thrills amid NFL showdown, Devin Haney and Tracey Morgan team up

Yesterday afternoon, Devin Haney was in attendance at MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants in New Jersey. Ace comedian and actor Tracy Morgan joined him to watch the finals between the home team and the visitors, the Washington Commanders. On his Instagram story, while sharing a few clips, ‘The Dream’ wrote, “When Goats link up!” Interestingly, while he wore a Saquan Barkley hoodie, Morgan donned a Darren Waller piece. A blue sea literally surrounded the duo!

Both legends appeared to be enjoying their time. Another clip showed quite a few fans looking up at their stand. The Washington Commanders lost 14-7 to the New York Giants. The latter entered the game on the back of a listless 1-5 record. Their offense had not scored a single first-half touchdown all season, and the team recorded only five sacks. But yesterday, the Giants changed the tides. Before halftime, they had scored two touchdowns and accumulated five sacks. The Commanders tried to make a comeback in the second half but couldn’t succeed.

The slugfest at Lighwelterweight

Though Regis Prograis enjoys a solid reputation as a hard hitter, it remains to be seen whether he is able to dent Devin Haney’s remarkable defense. Especially his last title defense against Danielito Zorrilla, which received a fair share of criticism due to the split decision. However, the New Orleans-born Southpaw assures that he is going to hurt the unified champion very severely.

‘The Dream,’ on the other hand, though short on knockout power, seems confident in taking down Regis Prograis. In fact, he appears to have already planned out his next opponent in his quest for title unification.
