Boxing promoter Frank Warren already defeated Eddie Hearn on the ground during their recent fight event on Saturday. However, Warren decided to beat Hearn again thousands of feet high in the skies in a duel of words. On their way back from the massive event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Warren was observed making fun of Hearn’s loss with his snide remarks while Hearn looked on haplessly.

Warren’s Queensberry and Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing engaged in a one-of-a-kind event on June 1st. Each of the two promoters had 5 boxers, and the winner would be determined by a best-of-five format. Queensberry won all 5 head-to-head matchups against Matchroom boxers, with many of them coming by way of knockouts. The event resulted in a complete sweep for Queensberry Promotions with a final score of 10-0. After the event, during their flight back home, unfortunately, Eddie Hearn found himself seated right next to the man who dealt him his biggest loss.

While on the plane, Hearn took out his phone and started making a video expressing his feelings about his defeat. He lamented, “Obviously a disappointing night in Riyadh, great show but long journey home, looking forward to a nice quiet trip.” Incidentally, Frank Warren appeared next to him. Hearn turned the camera towards Warren and the latter teased, “You know there was a five-hour delay on this flight and they reckon it is going to take five hours to get to the airport. And then after that, I’m sitting in row five. Anyway, high five.”

Frank Warren couldn’t resist a playful jab at rival Eddie Hearn during their post-fight chat. Throughout the lighthearted, yet barbed exchange, Warren repeatedly used the number five – a clear reference to Queensberry’s clean sweep victory – to playfully needle Hearn. Beyond the banter, this decisive win opens the door for some truly exciting future prospects for Queensberry and Matchroom together. Let’s delve into what might lie ahead for the fighters who fought on both sides.

New opportunities arise after 5 vs. 5

The most anticipated clash in these 5 fights was the main card, Deontay Wilder vs. Zhilei Zhang. Given his wide fan base and, of course, his powerful right hand that knocked down Tyson Fury, Wilder was expected to take home the win and set up a match with AJ at Wembley in September. However, the Chinese Heavyweight prevailed after eliminating ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

Zhang now stands a good chance of facing British boxer Anthony Joshua. Wilder, on the other hand, might hang his gloves for good as he had said it himself before the fight. Furthermore, Daniel Dubois also stood victorious against Croatian Heavyweight Filip Hrgovic, who was a clear favorite to win the bout. This made Dubois the interim IBF world champion. And it surely points towards a fight between Dubois and Anthony Joshua. Now, AJ can choose who to fight with at the end of the year, Dubois or Zhang.
