Floyd Mayweather never misses an opportunity to flaunt his opulent lifestyle on social media, starting from his collection of luxury cars, and private jets, to extravagant vacations. However, amidst the showcase of his wealth, he also shares the heartwarming moments he spends with his grandson, Kentrell Gaulden Jr. 

Every now and then, Mayweather posts pictures and videos of their time together, offering his fans a glimpse into their special bond. These moments, filled with affection and joy, highlight a different side of the boxing legend, revealing the deep connection he has with his grandson while allowing his followers to appreciate the personal and precious side of his life. 

Daily duties of Floyd Mayweather as a grandfather

In the past, ‘Money’ has shared a plethora of videos with his grandson, but this one especially stands out because of the sweet moment the duo shared early in the morning. In the clip, the richest boxer in the world can be seen helping his grandson brush his teeth, as Gaulden Jr. obediently follows his grandpa’s instructions while standing in front of the mirror. Mayweather captioned the clip, “Whether you’re a Father or Grandfather, the daily duties never stop! Priceless times are the moments you can never get back”.

Kentrell Gaulden Jr. is the son of Mayweather’s daughter, Iyanna Mayweather, with NBA YoungBoy. The duo became parents in January 2021 when Iyanna gave birth to their first and only son. Since then, Mayweather has been cherishing every moment he spends with his grandson.

Well, this is not the first time fans have witnessed such an adorable moment of Floyd Mayweather with Kentrell Gaulden Jr aka Meezy. Earlier in March this year, Floyd Mayweather Jr. shared a video showing his 71-year-old father assisting his grandson, Meezy with his outfit.

In the video, the grandfather can be seen carefully putting on his great-grandchild’s green and white Dr. Seuss pajamas, making sure the youngest Mayweather puts his arms in the sleeves the right way. To reassure the toddler while dressing, he also warbles a few runs with his golden voice.

In a single, heartfelt moment outside of the ring, two generations of boxers from different eras are shown in the video. “Even though my dad is dealing with dementia, he is still a great man and I enjoy these priceless moments. Dressing and singing to his Great-Grandson was amazing!” – captioned Floyd Mayweather Jr.

On a couple of such occasions, Kentrell even showcased how he was following in his grandfather’s footsteps. 

Training began early for Kentrell Gaulden Jr.

Back in June 2023, Floyd Mayweather Sr. took to his Instagram account to share a clip of his then 2-year-old grandson shadowboxing while standing atop a kitchen counter. Channeling his grandfather’s skills in the ring, the toddler put his fists up, throwing jabs and uppercuts while displaying amazing footwork like his grandfather once did. What’s more, this isn’t even the first time Floyd Mayweather introduced his grandson to boxing.

In March of the same year, the five-division champion shared a clip alongside his grandson playfully sparring in their living room. Despite the size difference, Kentrell showed his fighting spirit as he kept trying to land a big one on his much taller grandfather, as Mayweather kept saying “fight back”. It’s moments like these that fans have come to love and cherish so much after Floyd retired from the sport in August 2017.
