Heavyweight legend Mike Tyson has seen several incidents that can either make or break a man. From sky-high success to dooming ill-luck, ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ has experienced it all. Having seen umpteen dark days, Tyson has always overcome them in style and has always stood strong.
However, a few of those incidents are way too scratchy to reminisce. Tyson lost his four-year-old daughter, Exodus, in an unfortunate accident back in 2009. This incident understandably shook him to the core and brought a major depression into the former world champion’s life. While he seemingly overcame it with time, the heavyweight stalwart got emotional while talking about it in an interview.

Years back, when an interviewer asked him about Exodus’ death, an emotional Mike Tyson said, “This is my best thinking at the time. Get my gun, automatic, just like it and you just go crazy. Regardless, that just my first thought. But when I went to the hospital, the people that were there was. They are up there because their kids are dead too or about to die. So what the hell am I ?”

It’s been over a decade since Mike Tyson lost his daughter. But boxing fans recall the tragic incident to the day. While death arrived too soon for the 4-year-old, at that time Tyson cursed himself for suffering the fate. Mere negligence had taken away his daughter’s life. Here’s how all of it happened, unfortunately.
How did Mike Tyson lose his daughter?
According to reports, 4-year-old Exodus Tyson was alone at the home treadmill in Phoenix USA when she accidentally hung herself on a wire. Without adequate support, the young girl struggled until she was recovered in a very serious condition. She was taken to the Phoenix hospital, where Exodus Tyson lost her life.

A special CCTV footage also showed Mike Tyson arriving at the hospital, but only to come across the horrific news. She was on life support for a brief period but breathed her last at 11:45 am, a local Sgt. confirmed.
“Somehow, she was playing on this treadmill, and there’s a cord that hangs under the console; it’s kind of a loop. Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it,” said Sgt. Andy Hill.
