The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight may be long over, but it continues to face allegations of being staged by fans. Held on November 15th at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, ‘The Problem Child’ secured a unanimous decision victory over Tyson. The bout proved to be a major letdown, with Tyson noticeably gassing out after the first round—an outcome many had anticipated.

The underwhelming performance from the former undisputed heavyweight champion fueled a wave of allegations. Fans were quick to speculate, claiming Tyson intentionally threw the fight to cash in on a lucrative payday. While many experts have attempted to debunk these claims, former heavyweight champion Shane Cameron has now weighed in on the controversy, offering his perspective.

The internet is flooded with clips of so-called “experts” dissecting Tyson’s performance against Paul, pointing out specific moments they claim to support the rigging allegations. Shane Cameron appears to have come across one of these videos and has taken the time to debunk its claims. In doing so, he sheds light on what transpired during the fight, offering a more grounded perspective on the controversy.

“I don’t think this fight was rigged,” Cameron stated immediately after watching the clip that compared Tyson’s performance against Paul to his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. “The thing with all these videos, they are making it slo-mo and it looks like it’s rigged. And I don’t think it’s rigged man.”

“For you to land the big punches on your opponent, you gotta close the gap and then land the punches,” he continued. “But when Mike’s coming forward, he’s not coming forward as fast as what he used to do.” Cameron highlighted Tyson’s advanced age and Paul’s youth as the reason why Tyson was missing his shots rather than intentionally throwing the fight.

“The target is younger than him, the target is moving faster,” Cameron said. “[Paul] doesn’t have to have too much skill in terms of how he’s going to get over, but he just [has to] have good footwork to get away. And that’s what he has done.” While Cameron did his best to set the record straight, not everyone was convinced, including one of Tyson’s friends.

Former NFL pro bowler Adam Jones has sparked controversy by claiming the high-profile fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was “rigged.” Speaking to Mirror US, Jones alleged, “If you look at the first round, Mike hit him with a couple and it looked like he told him to slow down.”

Jones, a close friend of Tyson, questioned Paul’s uncharacteristic lack of aggression. “Paul knocked everybody else out. He wasn’t as aggressive though with Mike. He looked a little timid to me,” he added.

Despite being unaware of Tyson’s recent health struggles, including a significant blood transfusion, Jones expressed admiration for the boxing legend. “If he is medically cleared, let him go. He is a f**king warrior, bro,” Jones said.
