The Benavidez brothers have had bad blood with Canelo Alvarez for months now. When the interviewer asked the UFC fighter about what inputs he is taking from the Charlo-Canelo fight, he responded“I just gotta say fuck Canelo, you know. To be honest with you, we got to continue with our careers. Whatever he wants to do, it’s his decision. And if all the organisations let him do whatever he does and run everybody. We just gotta continue to stay busy, that’s what is in our minds.”

Expressing his frustration with Alvarez, Benavidez has explained why he thinks the fight failed to please fans.“The fight, him and Charlo, it was a boring fight in my opinion. You brought a guy who fights at 154 to 168, he would just try to survive in there. He rates himself a 10, if he feels happy about that, that’s good.” According to Benavidez, Canelo is only feeding his ego by fighting boxers who have a hard time facing him in the ring.
