The world knows Billy Joe Saunders as one of the most entertaining boxers. Saunders, in all his fights, enjoys pressurizing his opponents with both his mental and physical abilities. That said, his son too seems to be on the same path as his dad. Because back in 2017, Saunders’ little cub low blowed Willie Monroe Jr. at the weigh-ins, thus channeling his dad’s outrageous persona and power.

Saunders and Monroe Jr. were all set to contend with each other in a massive 12-round tussle at the Copper Box Arena in Hackney Wick. In this fight, Saunders was all set to defend his WBO middleweight title, and this bout accrued everyone’s attention for obvious reasons.

At the official weigh-ins, ‘Superb’ brought his son, Steve Saunders, as a companion.

Once both the fighters hit the weighing scale, the young gun went to Monroe Jr. and dispatched a low blow on him coupled with a kick.

The security guards had to rush in to stop Steve Saunders. The latter’s actions left Monroe Jr.’s teammate fuming, but ‘El Mongoose’ was calm enough and took it in his stride.

Moving further, the fight between Saunders and Monroe Jr. went as expected. The contest went to the final bell and stayed true to the hype. ‘Superb’ claimed a unanimous decision and registered his twenty-fifth consecutive victory.

Also, in the post-match presentations, Saunders’ son apologized for his actions at the weigh-ins. He said, “sorry for punching you in the n**s.”
