Terri Harper and Kid Galahad witnessed harsh reality in their latest appearances and brutally lost their respective world titles. That said, the recent Matchroom night was full of suspense and thrill.

Almost no one had envisioned Harper losing her title to an underdog, Alycia Baumgardner. Flying down to Harper’s home country, the American completely ignored the Brit’s home advantage.

Alycia Baumgardner charged up her opponent from the very first round. Harper struggled to deal with all the action and looked bleak at that point. But it was still hard to picture her losing. With her WBC super featherweight title at stake, Harper tried to counter her American rival.

Following the first three rounds, Alycia Baumgardner had done enough to earn Terri Harper’s respect. The fight looked like a 50-50 collision until it lasted.

Baumgardner made her statement in round four by landing haymakers on Harper. She caught the champion (then) by a right hook and followed it up with a left. As the shot concussed Terri Harper, the referee was quick to call it off.

Following her maiden pro-defeat, Harper took to social media and congratulated Alycia Baumgardner for the win. She also hinted at logging away for a few days, which may not look good for her activeness in the sport.

Well, she clearly wasn’t the only one to suffer a shock, as Kid Galahad came across a similar ill-fate.

After Terri Harper, Kid Galahad got stopped

Kid Galahad had put his hands on the IBF featherweight title in August. On his first title defense, he fought Kiko Martinez in a fight that ended mid-way. Galahad looked dominant from the start and didn’t let his rival establish his dominance. He punished Martinez until the end of round five.

Martinez floored the champion with a thunderous shot in round five. While Galahad was trying to get back on his feet, the bell saved him. Well, the first shot of round six from Martinez connected and put down Kid Galahad on the canvas. The shocking outcome changed the course of the division.
