Lightweight superstar Ryan Garcia is one of the biggest names in the sport. The undefeated American is a bona fide star thanks to his social media to go with his achievements in the ring. And he could have a surprising opponent in the form of Henry Cejudo.

Henry Cejudo is a former UFC double champion, having held the flyweight and bantamweight belts. And it appears as though ‘Triple C’ wants to follow the trend and cross over to the boxing ring. He even asked Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, for a fight against ‘King Ry.’

Could Henry Cejudo fight Ryan Garcia

The comments from the former double champion showed that he seriously wants to face Garcia. Moreover, it showed his confidence in beating the young superstar. But in reality, could Cejudo face Garcia in the boxing ring?

Theoretically, it is not so far-fetched. Cejudo fought at 135 lbs, which is the weight that Garcia fights at. Moreover, given that Garcia chased a super-fight against Manny Pacquiao, it is likely that he would be open to it.

However, Cejudo is still under contract with the UFC. And it is impossible that Dana White will allow him to fight Garcia. Furthermore, De La Hoya’s involvement makes it even more unlikely. Therefore, no matter how much Cejudo wants the bout, practically, it seems impossible as of now.
