Canelo Alvarez doesn’t seem to have finalized his next opponent yet. However, the P4P king is already back at the gym and is relentlessly preparing for his next showdown. Already 2-0 in this year, Alvarez, who now has three world titles in the 168 lbs division, is just short of Caleb Plant’s IBF belt.

However, the particular bout may not happen soon, and the exact reasons behind it are still not out. Meanwhile, Canelo Alvarez is looking likely to move to 175 lbs.

A recent video showcased the Mexican star unloading on pads, which might alarm several world champions in several weight classes. Given his form and class, Canelo Alvarez can be comfortable in multiple divisions. While a unification fight at 168 lbs doesn’t appear to be happening, we can see Alvarez enter some other ride.

Nevertheless, a fight against WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol can be the most viable option amongst all. Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, who is now working with Alvarez, has appeared optimistic about hosting the fight. So Alvarez’s return to the gym may show that he is close to having a fight confirmed.

Starting from boxers in the middleweight to super middleweight and now the light heavyweight division, there are umpteen names that can be beneficial for Alvarez’s return.

A potential fight between Alvarez and Artur Beterbiev has been boiling for years. Hence, moving up and facing Dmitry Bivol for the WBA 175 lbs belt can strengthen the grounds for Alvarez to demand a fight against Beterbiev.
