Former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. seems to have added a lot more tactics into his boxing arsenal and is ready to resurrect his position in the roster by returning against Chris Arreola on May 1. After losing his titles to Anthony Joshua in an epic rematch in 2019, the Mexican heavyweight has made a lot of changes in his camp.

He has parted ways with his former trainer and currently resides at Team Canelo, with Eddy Reynoso as the chief instructor. Meanwhile, he has been fortunate to have shared the gym with several other champions in Oscar Valdez, Ryan Garcia, and Canelo Alvarez.

Prior to his return, ‘The Destroyer’ was spotted training with Alvarez several times. Recently, the P4P king advised Andy Ruiz Jr. on landing the uppercuts. The video took the whole combat community by storm.

Andy Ruiz Jr. and Canelo Alvarez- A new bromance in boxing

Andy Ruiz Jr. has transformed himself vastly over the course of 2020. Starting from weight loss to footwork, there are some noticeable changes in the Mexican heavyweight’s action, and it might trouble Chris Arreola on May 1.

That said, Canelo Alvarez might need some more appraisal for putting in the effort. Several clips have taken a toll on social media, showcasing Alvarez as the guide for Ruiz Jr. Not only the brutal uppercuts, but Canelo Alvarez also revealed some of his defensive tactics to the fellow Mexican fighter.

Well, it’s not all action in there. A few days back, Canelo Alvarez was spotted having a light moment with Ruiz Jr’s son. Andy Ruiz Jr’s son appeared to dance with boxing gloves on at the gym, and Alvarez, who was inside the ring, didn’t hesitate in breaking into a jig as well.
