British boxer Conor Benn landed in hot waters last year after he failed his drug test. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) conducted the test and found that there were some trace amounts of Clomiphene in his urine. No doubt it must have been a shocking event for the boxer and his fans. But recently, Benn had been cleared of intentional doping by WBC. The WBC couldn’t find any conclusive evidence of Benn ingesting any banned substance. And they later claimed that “highly-elevated consumption of eggs” was considered a “reasonable explanation” for the adverse finding. Recently, Conor Benn revealed how his dad tore up his boxing license.
Bob Arum, who is known for his controversial statements and outspoken personality, refused to give any opinion on Benn and Pacquiao’s fight. This happened when Matt Tucker, a reporter for Fight Hub TV, asked him some questions about Pacquiao and Benn during a press conference. The conference was held for Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenko, which is going to take place on May 20. Tucker’s question about Conor Benn’s doping caused Arum to go off on him.

During a recent interview with Matt Tucker from Fight Hub TV, Bob Arum, a well-known American boxing promoter, was asked about the rumors of Manny Pacquiao facing Conor Benn. Arum, who previously promoted Pacquiao, stated, “I love Manny he is a good friend of mine. I don’t promote him anymore, so I am not even gonna talk about any future Manny Pacquiao fight”. Arum seemed pretty adamant about not commenting on the situation.
But the reporter, Matt Tucker, prodded him further and asked about Conor Benn’s failed drug test and his egg excuse. Arum, seemed to be unaware of the situation and asked, “Who?”. After this, Tucker started explaining the whole situation to Arum. After listening to his explanation, Arum went off on Tucker. He straight-up denied having any knowledge of the event. He responded with, “What the f*ck do I know of Conor Benn failing a drug test?! What kinda question is that for me?”. It is unclear whether Arum was genuinely unaware of the situation or simply unwilling to comment on it. Nonetheless, the interview ended with Arum declining to comment further.

Bob Arum reveals the real reason for the collapse of the Fury vs. Usyk fight

Arum noted that while they were trying to schedule the fight for April, both fighters realized that there would be more money available if the fight was held in November or December, which was when the Saudis were willing to offer a significant sum. This development highlights the financial motivations that drive the sport of boxing, which can sometimes overshadow the glory and the fans’ desires.
