Just two months ago, he purportedly claimed to be done with crossover boxing. Now, during an interview with Sportbible, Tommy Fury seems to have suggested that he would be remaining in the crossover or influencer genre. Not only that, he would be happy to have Logan Paul as his next opponent.

To many followers, it might appear like a complete volte-face. English cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley took a step toward lending a voice to those sentiments. It’s been a fantastic year for the young member of the Fury clan. Early in February, he defeated Jake Paul by a split decision at the Diriyah Arena in Saudi Arabia. Eight months later, he inflicted a loss to another bitter competitor, KSI, in his hometown, Manchester. Tommy Fury thus remains unbeaten in ten fights.

Calling Tommy Fury a stubborn lodger, Viddal Riley tweeted that he is like that inconsiderate person who wouldn’t leave the place even when anyone wanted them to vacate. The cruiserweight champion said, “This guy is like a lodger, who refuses to leave when you want your room back.” He had attached a minute-long video of Fury’s interview with Sportbible.

In the interview, Tommy Fury declared that he remains the best in the influencer scene, even though he may not want to be there. The latter asked whether he would stay with the influencer boxing genre. ‘TNT’ replied, “No, I’am not done with it, definitely. It’s very nice, actually. It’s very nice.” He added further, “Yeah, it’s lucrative, mate. But in terms of all the crap that comes with it, you know I am not about that. You’ve seen me on the buildup to these fights. I am not interested.

Then, taking Logan Paul’s name, Tommy Fury mentioned that if the American YouTuber-turned-boxer-turned-wrestler wants a fight, he can get one. But the outcome might not be different from his past experiences, where he lost all the bouts. So when the interviewer tried to get confirmation on whether he’d fight Logan Paul, Tommy Fury said that he would fight Jake Paul’s brother anytime, anywhere.

He knows that Logan Paul is not a fighter. But comparatively, ‘The Problem Child’ fares better since he trains hard to become a better boxer, Tommy Fury explained. Logan Paul is a wrestler, a YouTuber, and an actor. He seemed confident that the elder Paul would hesitate to fight him.

Not long ago: Was it a goodbye?

Soon after the unconvincing battle with KSI got over on October 14, Tommy Fury was talking to Ariel Helwani in the ring. When the MMA Journalist of the Year recipient asked him what he told KSI once the fight was over, Tommy Fury clarified that he had yet to speak to his opponent. But he added, “Listen, at the end of the day, a lot went sh*t went up on the buildup. It is what it is. He goes his way, I go mine. I’m done with all this sh*t, all this crossover sh*t. I’m not a part of that. I’m here to fight, and we go to the next challenge.

Helwani asked whether he confirmed no more chances of a Jake Paul rematch or a Logan Paul match and that he’d be dealing with traditional boxing. Tommy Fury said, “No, definitely not me. I’m done with the bullsh*t. F*ck the bullsh*t on to that challenge any of the Pauls want it, I welcome with open arms. Let’s get it on.” The latest on his future plans is sure to confuse a hell lot of fans and followers.

On the reality front, there appear to be talks of a fight with legend Roy Jones Jr. But on the other hand, a Mirror article revealed that Tommy Fury called himself a ‘novice’ when Australian cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia called him out.
