The world of boxing is no stranger to questionable decisions. Just last month, the fans were awaiting to witness a clash between two high-level boxers. However, the decision of the contest left the boxing world divided. On the official scorecards, Devin Haney defeated Vasyl Lomachenko but he did not win in many fans opinions. Usually, in controversial decisions, fans demand a rematch. The most recent lightweight title bout is no different. Although the fans are demanding one, Haney has shown no interest and Lomachenko is not expecting one either.
Whether or not one agrees with the decision, it would be fair to say that Haney looked vulnerable fighting Lomachenko. Not to mention, Lomachenko is aware of the same and despite his defeat against the champion; the Ukrainian boxer finds himself levels above him.

Post the bout, Haney explicitly took the name of Gervonta Davis as a potential opponent at 135lbs. Davis may not be the champion of the division but he does not appear to be any less than one. In April of this year, the undefeated boxer defeated rising star, Ryan Garcia, fair and square in the 7th round of the bout. He is the prodigy of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and many would argue him to be the face of boxing as of now. Needless to say, a bout between him and Haney would be a spectacle and arguably a competitive one. However, after spending 12 rounds with him, Lomachenko believes Haney would not face “Tank”. As per the Boxing scene, he asserted, “It’s never happen, Because now he understands his skills, he understands his level.”
Though only time can reveal if the bout eventually takes place. For all we know, Haney has also shown interest to move up to the super-lightweight division. And if he eventually does move up, the chances of him facing Davis would abate. Reflecting on the same, Lomachenko thinks that Haney would move up and fight “regular” opponents. He added, “I think he will go up to 140 and fight just regular fighters.”
