Gennady Golovkin once again paints with blood on the canvas. The forty years old who faced Ryota Murata on Saturday in Saitama, Japan, again stunned the world with exceptional performance. Following his 9th round victory over Murata, in which Golovkin obtained his second middleweight title, a picture on Twitter has gone viral.

‘The blood on the canvas after #GGGMurata,’ as it reads, is self-explanatory. Drops of fresh blood sprinkled almost all over the canvas inside Saitama Super Arena, screaming pure war.

Gennady Golovkin, who turned forty just a day before the fight, delivers his best against the Japanese and former WBA middleweight title-holder.

Gennady Golovkin and his reign over blood

Golovkin now holds a professional record of 42 wins, 1 loss, and only 1 draw. He exhibits 37 vicious knockouts on his scintillating boxing journey. The only defeat that Gennady Golovkin has, comes to him from his fight with Canelo Alvarez.

Murata, who entered the fight with 13 KOs on his resume, as opposed to Golovkin, has now an experience of 19 fights. An Olympic gold medalist, Murata, 4 years younger than Golovkin, definitely had high hopes. Unfortunately, it was ‘Triple G’ who had to strike again.

With this victory over Murata, fans now hope for the third match between Golovkin and the Mexican phenom, Canelo Alvarez. According to sources, the bout will probably take place on September 17, 2022.

Canelo Alvarez is only weeks away from his fight against Bivol. Coincidentally, last week a tweet centering on Canelo went viral when a blogger who took hits from Alvarez urinated blood. Agree or not, there’s just some sort of connection between the two.
