On Tuesday, the boxing world woke up to the most bolting news. Police arrested WBA (Regular) Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis on charges of domestic violence.
As per Broward Country Sheriff’s Office, authorities took Gervonta Davis into custody. According to the report filed, Gervonta Davis was apprehended in Florida on Tuesday afternoon after reportedly using a ‘closed fist type slap’ to strike a woman. The woman’s name had been withheld at the time. She did not reside with Davis. Nevertheless, she sustained a minor cut to the ‘inside of her upper lip.’ Now the story has taken a new twist as she seems to have recanted, stating the world champion did not attack her or their child and that the 911 call was ‘unnecessary.’
