It’s been nearly three months since the crowd at the Estadio Akron in Mexico’s Zapopan cheered their hearts out for the hometown boy, Canelo Alvarez. The undisputed champion returned in May after hand surgery kept him away for close to eight months. He took on John Ryder during the second title defense. As he seesawed between David Benavidez‘s challenge and avenging the second career loss to Dmitry Bivol, the announcement of a hyper-clash with Jermell Charlo descended. The two will face each other on September 30 in Las Vegas. As he braces himself for the third title defense, Alvarez took time to share an inspirational message with his millions of fans.

Early today, the undisputed Super Middleweight champion shared a message. He said that when a person retains clarity of thought and understands what he needs, no force on earth can obstruct his path, “When you know what you want, there’s no one stopping you.”

Soon, messages started flowing in. While some hailed the champion, many usual suspects reminded him of a few fights he needed to undertake.

Fans join, coming across words of inspiration from Canelo Alvarez

Countering Canelo Alvarez, Giovanni Aguilar contributed by adding words to the statement. He said, “(“When you know what you want, there’s no one stopping you.)…barring champions such as David Benavidez, Dmitry Bivol, and Floyd Mayweather Jr. “Unless it’s David Benavidez, Floyd, or Bivol 😂.” 

Martin Morelli also echoed a similar line. Calling the Mexican superstar a jester, Morelli shared that Bivol and Mayweather Jr. had defeated him in the ring, “Clown. Bivol beat you and Floyd too. And these.“

Then Marco Aurelio Hernandez appeared apprehensive about what Alvarez said. However, the user would love to see a bout between him and  Terence Crawford. Hernandez said, “Let’s see if I really want you to fight Terence Crawford.” Carlito, however, urged Alvarez to get his act together and do better than how he fought John Ryder. The user also confirmed betting his money on the Mexican icon. “You better perform better than ur last fight for ur next fight against Charlo. I got my money on you.“

Finally, Taniyah She-Ra Price agrees with Canelo Alvarez to the core. She is completely absorbed in the task at hand and determined to succeed. Price said, “[Yes] [Sir]! Laser-focused and with a purpose 🤝🥊” 

The September 30 clash would be fought at 168 pounds. Hence, Canelo Alvarez needs to defend his undisputed title against Charlo. But it should be highlighted that the face-off is one-of-a-kind since, for the first time, two undisputed champions slug it out in the ring after the commencement of the four-belt era.
