Boxing promoters love to talk big, but when it comes to actually paying female fighters what they deserve? That’s where things get sketchy—like how Marvel rakes in billions, but its VFX artists barely get a fair deal. For years, women’s boxing has been sidelined, grinding for fair pay while the old-school promoters raked in the cash like they’re Scrooge McDuck. Now? Well, Jake Paul is kinda flipping the script—calling out the industry and working like a messiah for female athletes.

It’s not even been a couple of days since he announced that Amanda Serrano will become the highest-paid woman in sports history for a single event in July. Now, the way things are shaping up, it looks like the social media star-turned-boxer is not going to stop here. The reason? On March 6, The Problem Child hit up his official Instagram handle and took a jab at other boxing promoters.

He shared a beautiful note for the women athletes with a direct shot at other promoters’ reputations in his IG story. BIGGEST IN WOMEN’S SPORTS HISTORY. Unlike some old and new promoters in boxing, MVP has, does & will always champion women as equals to men, treating them w/ supreme respect & never compromising on those values. Congratulations to all involved,” the 28-year-old boxer wrote in his story.

Ouch! Let’s be reallove him or hate him, Jake Paul is surely shaking things up after several female boxers have raised their voices for the paycheck they actually deserve. Take Claressa Shields, for instance. The pro boxer has been a two-time Olympic gold medalist and a world champion across multiple weight classes. Her paycheck? Ooh, that’s where things get shady. Even her promoter pointed out that TV and streaming deals are 10 to 20 times more lucrative for male boxers than female.

And that’s not all. Remember Michelle Preston when she got frustrated with the boxing promoters back in 2012? Yeah, the pioneering boxer believed that female boxers are often marginalized by promoters and that promoters see them as a novelty. Enter Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, and suddenly, it seems like the guy’s out there to invest in female boxers. Because, let’s be obvious—we’re about to see Serrano become the highest-paid woman in sports history, even if it’s just for one event.
