It’s a favorable time for the boxing world to witness two of their prime heavyweight champions, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, collide with each other, with all the titles at stake. However, the matchup is still not final and with several ongoing circumstances, we may see another blockbuster clash fall off the charts.

However, Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, dislikes the idea. He believes Joshua equally wants the fight. But if he doesn’t, John Fury vows to walk a separate path with his WBC champion son. Amid many talks going around, John Fury sat with Seconds Out and revealed his opinion on the whole scenario.

The 56-year-old said, “He (Joshua) will probably want it as quick as possible because you know there’s nothing like a long-drawn-out job. Me dad used to say a long deal is never any good. If it’s not done quick and sharp, you never get the best out of it.”

He added, “So, at the end of the day, we want it. Either do it or both men go to the separate ways and do what they are doing and collide along the line somewhere.”

The matchup has had its roots deep for several years, as both the heavyweights had sensational runs in their respective careers. ‘The Gypsy King’, 30-0, has touched all the world titles and is still undefeated. Meanwhile, ‘AJ’ is an Olympic gold medalist, and a 2x unified world champion.

In recent times, they have had glorious fights. Tyson Fury vanquished Deontay Wilder in 2020 to grab the WBC belt. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua avenged his only loss against Andy Ruiz Jr, and successfully defended his titles against Kubrat Pulev. Hence, the time is right for the duo to enter the ring to determine the better boxer among them.
