WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has a lot going around in his professional combat career. He has an important fight on board against Deontay Wilder, which will close off his rivalry with the American KO artist and enhance his name in the heavyweight division. However, Fury might have fans way beyond the limits of the boxing circle.

He has teased a potential move to the MMA community several times. Now, his father John Fury has also dived in to further strengthen the claims. While the boxing ring will continue to offer a lot for ‘The Gypsy King’, John Fury sees his son moving to the octagon in the future. In a chat with Dan Hardy, the 56-year-old shared several views on the undefeated champion Tyson Fury.

Speaking about a potential MMA debut, Fury said, “He can use more than his hands, believe it or not. And he’s quick and light on his feet. And his balance is good. And I do believe if a top MMA trainer took him on, he could do big things with him. Ask Darren Till, he’s done the work with him.”

“He’s got a good forearm smash and all that kind of thing. The knees go up, the head goes in, the elbows. I’ve seen him do it out of boxing, see. I’ve seen him fighting outside, this that and the other. I know what he’s capable of, and with the right training, yes he could do that.” (H/T:- MMAmania.com)

However, there are at least two big boxing clashes before him. Hence, Tyson Fury cannot overlook that. On defending his belts against Wilder, Fury can compete in a four-belt unification fight. But that will intensify his path for an MMA crossover even more.

Fury has always had an eye on MMA, becoming a regular guest in several UFC events. Furthermore, he has trained with American and British MMA fighters like Darren Till and Nick Diaz. Thus, Fury is not new to the martial arts community, especially with his gameplay available in the EA UFC 4.

But on a more serious note, Tyson Fury is a big star of boxing and can earn hefty amounts by crossing over to the mixed martial arts world. While he seems interested, it might happen in the future. However, ‘The Gypsy King’ will have to retain his supremacy in the squared circle before making any shift.
