2022 seems to be an action-packed year for boxing as some stout names of the sport will take up the ring space to delight the fans. The face of the heavyweights, Tyson Fury, is one of those names. The Brit will enter the ring for some mammoth title defenses, and potentially an undisputed title fight by the end of the year.
Fury wants to return in March/April to either defend his WBC belt or his Ring belt. However, many wish to know about the exact date and timeline of ‘The Gypsy King’s return. That said, his promoter, Frank Warren, recently opened up on Fury’s upcoming fight date.
Speaking to iFL TV, he said, “Tyson wants to fight by the end of March. We’re looking at, we’re all as a team looking at other situations as well. But whatever happens, he will fight on the 26th of March. That’s what the objective is.”

For Fury‘s next outing, Dillian Whyte, the WBC mandatory and WBC interim heavyweight champion, was considered as the probable opponent. However, Fury and Whyte‘s teams couldn’t strike a deal, as ‘The Body Snatcher’ wanted a 45% cut for the fight.

What will happen if Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte’s teams cannot iron out a deal?
Given how things stand and Fury’s team having explored options for a Ring title match, it seems that there are absolutely zero chances of both these teams finding a middle ground. If Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte‘s teams do not reach a deal, this fight will go to purse bids.

Purse bids are not an alien concept as George Kambosos Jr and Teofimo Lopez’s fight met the same fate last year. The boxing world will wait and hope that all parties can reach a deal before the deadline or expect a purse bid announcement on January 12.
