While Tyson Fury has always admired Roberto Duran, ‘El Cholo’ also praised ‘The Gypsy King’. In 2020, after Tyson Fury stopped Deontay Wilder in the seventh round of their rematch, Duran had greatly lauded Fury’s skills in the ring. Speaking to IFL TV, Duran had explained that Fury moved his head so intelligently that Wilder could not hit him. Therefore, Duran had called Fury “really smart.” “I believe Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight now,” he had added. Now, as ‘El Cholo’ receives treatment in Panama, Fury sent his love to Duran.

Taking to Instagram, in a short video, Fury said, “Hey guys, Tyson Fury here. This is a special message to the legend Roberto Duran. Roberto, get well soon, buddy. All the best, thinking of you, love you, God bless. Peace out.” At this, while Fury prayed for Duran’s recovery, boxing commentator Juan Carlos Tapia reported that ‘El Cholo’ would be given a pacemaker.
