Tyson Fury Reveals Opponents for the Next 5 Fights While Sudden Future Hangs Around With a Small Thread

Tyson Fury stands firm in his commitment to continue boxing. He’s dismissed any thoughts of retirement and asserted that he is currently at the pinnacle of his career. Despite a setback due to a training injury requiring significant stitching, Fury remains focused on a future that includes at least five more fights.

Originally slated for a clash with Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed world heavyweight championship in Riyadh, the bout has faced its second postponement. This was due to an accident during a sparring session, and now the new tentative date is May 18th. Furthermore, he’s talked about his destined fate to go against two more opponents, except for Oleksandr Usyk, and called it just the “beginning“.

Tyson Fury wants to move past the retirement rumors

In an Instagram story, Tyson Fury made it clear to boxing fans that he wasn’t going to retire anytime soon. He’s talked about how he’s already planned out the next five fights of his career against opponents like Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou. And there will be more fights coming even after the ones mentioned. So the news of his retirement is still too far away to be discussed as of now. His story has been posted again on Twitter (X).

So, in the video, he stated, “I ain’t retiring anywhere. I’ve got two fights with Usyk, for the undisputed twice. Then I’m gonna fight ‘AJ’ at least once, maybe twice if there’s a rematch, if he wants one after the first batter I give him. And then I’m gonna fight Ngannou again. And that’s just the start, so that’s five little fights for you, to whet your appetite with.” He also mentioned that he’s only 35 years old and still has a lot of time left.

In addition, Fury has also remarked that this is his prime going on, rather than people thinking otherwise. Even though the fans could’ve known the results of the much-awaited Fury-Usyk fight by now, Tyson Fury is the reason behind the postponement. Still, Usyk wasn’t very sad about it.

Oleksandr Usyk saw the postponement as an opportunity

A mere two weeks before his scheduled bout with Oleksandr Usyk on February 17, Tyson Fury faced an unexpected setback. Engaging in sparring, the British boxer suffered a cut above his right eye, leading to his withdrawal from the highly anticipated clash. The severity of the injury required extensive intervention, with Fury undergoing a procedure that involved 11 stitches to mend the cut.

Amid such tumultuous events, Oleksandr Usyk found solace and priority in his personal life. Despite the challenges posed by the bout’s delay, the Ukrainian fighter made a poignant return to his homeland. The purpose of his journey was to embrace the joyous occasion of meeting his newborn daughter. Her birth had occurred during the intense training period for the anticipated showdown against Tyson Fury. He told the BBC, “I’m very happy because I now go to Ukraine.”

Furthermore, he added, “I see my two daughters and my wife. I go to my church and pray.
