In boxing, each combatant has a puncher’s chance, especially if you are Francis Ngannou. Hence, while considering the stakes at hand, Fury thinks Ngannou has the world to gain and nothing to lose. Meanwhile, he thinks he has everything to lose but nothing to gain. In an interview with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, he stated, “Listen, all men that get in the ring with me, one, they are getting a lottery win. Straight away. Then, if they can beat me, then their lives and family lives have changed forever.”
He adds, “So there is a lot on the line for him, even more on the line for me. If I win, it is like, well, okay, he beat a UFC fighter. But if I lose, it’s like he was never any good, anyway. He got beat by an MMA guy.” Fury’s perspective is quite candid and intriguing.
Not to mention, considering the narrative surrounding the fight, it would be hard to argue against his opinion. However, at the same time, Fury could not be any more confident ahead of the fight.
